About Dr. Christopher Harlan:
Optometric Physician

Dr. Harlan was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, where he lived until moving to the great state of Arkansas for college. After graduating from the University of Arkansas-Fayettteville with a degree in Biology, he decided to pursue his passion for eye care by attending optometry school. He received his doctorate degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.

During his last year of training, Dr. Harlan moved back to Fayetteville, where he provided patient care at an ocular disease and surgical referral center. There, he had the privilege of working with some of the brightest in the profession. Because of his training in Fayetteville, Dr. Harlan learned to appreciate and love the full scope of the practice of optometry.

After serving as the pre-operative and post-operative coordinator at a LASIK center in Memphis, Dr. Harlan re-discovered his passion for primary eye care. He also decided that he couldn't stay away from Arkansas, a place he has grown very attached to over the years. He joined the Amerine Eye Care team in 2017 and loved living in Little Rock.

Dr. Harlan traveled on a mission trip to Belize with a team of community developers and health educators. He is a proud Eagle Scout and has served as a high school youth advisor for four years. In addition, he was the founder of the University of Arkansas Optometry Club, a student organization that is still going strong to this day.

Dr. Harlan is a member of the Arkansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors and is constantly trying to plan his next traveling adventure. He is a big Razorback fan and always is looking for a chance to call the Hogs.
